When you step out of your usual genre, what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?
For me it would be 'Steampunk'. Some time ago, I decided that I'm be done with steampunk because I just couldn't get a grasp on the whole concept of the genre. The world seems to be beyond my understanding and some of the books in the genre that I read had very twisted plot that I ended up not finishing the books, which was rather unfortunate because I hate not finishing a book. The only steampunk book that I managed to finish was Encrypted by Lindsay Buroker. But lately I have contemplated giving the genre another try so hopefully I will end up liking it. Besides, I have one steampunk book left unread which is Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare.
Best book in the genre? I don't know, honestly speaking.

What a great choice. I haven't read a lot of it myself either. But I'm a Paranormal Junkie!!

Yeah steampunk is a little bizarre. I don't read it much either. New follower via GFC. My FFs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Friday! :D
Hopping through. I haven't read much steampunk but I've really liked what I have read. I should read more.
My Hop
I have yet to dive into the world of steampunk though I am actually quite excited to do so as I received one last week (Tarnished by Karina Cooper).

I haven't read SteamPunk yet, although I have a couple of its books on my wishlist.
I guess adult fiction would be where I got the most out of my usual genre...
